Kodak Printer 5100 Review

Kodak Easyshare 5100 All-in-One Printer Review

The Kodak EasyShare 5100 All-in-One inkjet printer offers users a choice of functions besides the usual color or black and white printing capabilities including both copying and scanning, allowing one the ability print their own photos right from home.

Highlights and Features

If you’re interested in printing more than just text documents or even photos, the Kodak EasyShare 5100 supports a variety of different mediums besides plain or photo paper including greeting cards or card stock, envelopes, transparency films, iron-on transfers for t-shirts, and it also supports paper weights that range from 17 to 24 pounds.

Capable of two-sided printing, the Kodak 5100, like its counterparts the EasyShare 5300 and 5500 models, uses a six ink system but with only two actual ink cartridges, one for the black and the other for the colors, making replacement time simple.

In comparison to other all-in-one printers by Kodak in the EasyShare series, the 5100 is touted for its low ink costs and ease of use. While it may not contain all of the bells and whistles that the more expensive models feature such as an LCD display, the 5100 EasyShare is said to print quality photos in less than half a minute and is able to print up to nine copies at a time.

The computer operating systems that are compatible with the Kodak’s EasyShare 5100 printer are all versions of both Windows XP and Vista, or Macintosh 10.4.8 or later. To operate the printer properly in tandem with your own computer, the recommended PC hardware requirements are 512 megabytes of RAM and at least 200 megabytes of available hard drive space.

The Kodak EasyShare 5100 all-in-one averages in the $98 to $100 price range.
