Adapter Tube Ring

Adapter Tube Ring
Do I have enough feeding supplies for baby? Suggestions? Baby due tomorrow!?

I will be breastfeeding. I plan on going back to work 8 weeks after the baby is born and pumping to feed him while in daycare. Here is what I have. I’m worried that I don’t have enough “stuff”. My main concern is that I will be pumping to save up milk and not have a way to store it. The way I see it, I only have enough rings/caps to store 8 containers of breastmilk in the freezer.

Dual Breast Pump (attaches to playtex adapter)
6 4-ounce Nurser bottles with nipples, nipple ring and caps
8 ring/cap things for breastmilk freezing storage to use with drop ins (wow, these are expensive)
1 tube lansinoh lanolin lotion (2 oz)
1 60 ct box nipple “pads”
About 75 4 oz liners
I also bought a 50 pack of Lansinoh storage bags (maybe I could pump into a liner, then pour into the storage bag)

For the moment you have plenty. Even if you need to go back to work at 8 weeks, I would not start pumping for at least 3-4 weeks. You will be tired from the birth, and nursing VERY often for the first few weeks, so you really dont’ want to spending hours each day hooked up a pump while baby is also nursing 10-14 times a day.

Early pumping can also cause you to have oversupply. Better to wait until baby is nursing well, and your supply has settled down.

When you do begin to pump use the storage bags, not the bottles to store the milk in your freezer. Then you only need enough bottles to send to daycare each day. (3-4 will probably be ample.) You can buy more storage bags as you need them.
