What is a Right Angle Finder and what do you use it for?

I found this right angle finder on ebay… I found it fits the type of camera i have… I have no idea what it actually does…

Can you explain to me what this odes?

I didn’t buy it… I saw it, and was curious as to what it does.

Basically it attaches to the viewfinder eye piece and allows you to frame and focus looking down rather than looking through the eye piece.

It’s a very handy piece of equipment to have if you use a tripod a lot. If you don’t use a tripod much, you probably won’t have much use for it.
