Camera Lens Filter

Camera Lens Filter
What are camera filters and lens, and Do I really need it?

I am planning to buy a Digital Camera (not SLR) that has “optional extra lens” and “optional filters”. I only take photos of the family and friends on vacation and at gatherings.

The most important filter on your lens is the skylight or UV filter that is used to protect the lens from damage. Most digital “point and shoot” cameras do not take filters in any case. An add-on lens that might come in handy is the wide angle one. There are times when you need to get more in your photo and there is no way to back up any farther. Also when on vacation, we tend to shoot more landscapes and sunrises and sunsets, so an axillary wide angle adapter might just fit into your plans.
