Camera Strap Pentax

Camera Strap Pentax
How I can secure my camera while canoeing?

I'm going on a canoe trip on the weekend and would like to take some snapshots while in the water. I have a Pentax W10, which is resistant to water so I'm not worried about it having a splash. My concern is that fall. I need some way insurance myself. I need to be accessible yet out of the way while paddling. Of course I do not want it catching on anything special if I fall into the water, so should be safe. The camera has a Wrist Strap and a place to fix it (the manual calls a terminal of the belt. ") Any advice from experienced canoeists kayakers / rafters to keep my security camera would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Pentax WP and is small enough to fit in the pocket of the PFD (life jacket). I can run the end of the lanyard through a small loop straps on the pfd is close to the bag. Then I put the camera until the end of the rope and pull tight security. That way, if I drop the camera, remains subject to the pfd, and when I'm not using, everything is pocketed pfd so there is nothing as hooked. You'll need something a little larger than a wrist strap, however.
