What does the ppi Canon Eos Rebel XS capture images?

I'm tied between getting a Canon Eos Rebel XS and a Nikon D60, but a major concern ppp is for me the images I take. And Nikon cameras have been set at 300 ppi, but was not sure about Canons.

The ppi (pixels per inch) or dpi dots per inch does not really mean anything. What? it only means something when you print or view on a monitor. There is no such thing as a digital Slr Camera 300 dpi or 72 dpi etc. For example … Say you have a 12 megapixel camera. In the long side, the number of pixels is about 4200. This means that printing, 10 inches on the long side will have about 420 pixels per inch. Make sense? That's all it is. To print or view it .. it all means nothing. If it does not limit a particular print size. For example, suppose you have a requirement for a photography class or client, and they want no less than 300 dpi, which means you can only go up to print size until you come to that. That happens about 11×14 in size with a 12 MP camera.
