Sony Cybershot F717 repair question – not the CCD issue?

I have a Sony Cybershot Dsc-F717. I had the problem repaired by Sony CCD 9 / 2006. Last weekend started having another problem: Everything that appears on the LCD and viewfinder is yellow, and smeared on the right. This includes not just the issue of the picture, but the histogram indicator, battery status, etc. However, if I take a picture and then transfer that image to my computer, the image looks perfect. Therefore, I'm thinking that the CCD is fine, but what drives the sample breaks. Does anyone have any idea? Sony said $ 231 to fix it. Part of me wants improve only to a Digital Slr for $ 600, but I know that then I have to replace all my filters, lenses, memory cards, extra battery, extra charger, etc. so we really had to talk a lot more than $ 600 and, frankly, I've been spending too much money lately. Any suggestions as to why only spending $ 231 to fix my current camera would be a bad idea?

The camera has a sensor really nice. Most Compact Digital cameras ultrazooms have sensors and even much smaller than yours has. You will not be happy with another camera unless it is an SLR with a larger sensor. You could buy other outside of eBay. That's what I did when I dropped the camera.
