Lens Filters Set
Replicating this period paintings, digitally?

Any specific advice on imaging with a similar look? Obviously, most of this will be done by post-processing with Photoshop, but something else I should look for while I'm shooting? What happens to the light of configuration? What about filters or exposure? I have a Nikon D50 with a Nikkor 50mm/1.8 lens. The model / hair / game is appropriate for all preparations time. http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/4509/20spearlsnc1.jpg http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/5849/1920s1lb7.jpg Thanks in advance! I forgot to mention textures that all aside, I really like the heavy shadows that remain in the picture. I also like how the lips and blackened eyes look. Any ideas to get This effect, too?

Many of these early photographers including these photos were created with natural light is usually a window or a skylight. You must look at works by EJ Belloq more inspiration and information about how he would compose and configuration of their shots. As far as makeup is concerned, much use of the base on models that look brilliant, Max Factor is a good choice. The grain also seems quite important in these photos so that you may wish to shoot a major adjustment ISO 800 and above, or you can use one of the various grain filters in Photoshop. You may also wish to overexpose slightly their images in the camera photoshop and increase the contrast.
