The 107 Club, Crawley, Sussex, United Kingdom – Sound & Lighting Installation

The first time I visited the place at Club 107, which was simply a empty shell. It was hard to imagine how they would become a fully functioning nightclub in Sussex, but after three months of hard work site opened its doors to the public with great success.

The brief was simple: the high sound quality and an impressive light show night party.

Sound system's 107 Club

Starting with the sound system, we chose a Funktion One sound system known for its high quality and visually stunning systems, we feel that Funktion One might offer the most appropriate for the venue. On the dance floor sound system consisting of four speakers Funktion A Res2SH flown from the ceiling, two double Funktion One F221 21 "drawers under. The speakers Funktion One Res2SH offer a fairly narrow spread, which allowed us concentrate the sound on the dance floor area without dropping off too much in the bar. The speakers were driven by two amplifiers MC ², the E25 and E45. These were in turn controlled by a system processor and an XTA DP424 XTA C2 compressor limiter, audio mixer with a Formula FF6000 in the DJ booth.

The peripheral sound (sound filling surround system) was slightly more complex, with additional 7 separately in well-defined areas. First, there were four individual VIP rooms, which needed their own volume control. For such a Bose system is specified, giving a high sound quality of compact enclosures. The first three quarters of the area used DS100 mounted Bose speakers, with the last room with a Bose Freespace 3 system. Each room was also equipped with a cloud RL1 Remote Control unit volume, enabling customers to control the volume in your room independently.

Next were upstairs and bar below, the dance floor and secondary education. In these areas we have chosen a number of (EV) ElectroVoice ZX1 speakers. Powered by QSC GX3 and GX5 amps, these speakers offer a perfect solution good sound quality but not overwhelming to the peripheral areas.

The 107 Club Disco Lighting System

Turning to the network lighting, we had the challenge of creating something impressive, but only in order to give the place a form of head and shoulders above its competitors standing. With its high ceiling fair, the 107 Club was a perfect candidate for a ceiling LED. After some discussion and modifications, it was decided that we would build custom LED array to run the entire length of the roof and down a wall opposite the DJ box. Cover a total area of 90 square meters, will create one of the most impressive disco lights in the area.

Himself roof is composed of 1850 LED RGB, which covers the area 18m long and 5m. Each of the LEDs is adjustable, which allows us to create an infinite number of patterns, graphics and effects. Within the area of the roof of the LED, also installed a number of conventional nightclub lighting effects to add even more impact to the spectacle of lights. These consist of 8 TC 300 ClubSpot Robe moving heads, Martin Atomic strobes and 8 3000. Also added two custom built UK 300mW green laser, a system of Martin and Martin Fog Club one AF-1 fan to circulate the smoke. To enlighten the stage area, two heads Robe moving ClubWash CT 300 were built, and two additional Robe ClubSpot TC 300 is placed over the dance school. Peripheral illumination LED was also added, with 48 Octostip battons LED placed in the bar area and on the edge of the balcony.

Lighting control was provided by a system based computer software, Ecue. This gave us the flexibility to program the entire computer system in one, with different areas can be controlled separately. Also gave us the ability to run low-resolution graphics and video on top of the LED. The DMX is generated through seven Ecue Butler devices, giving us a total of DMX fourteen universities.

To end the visual system has been added that includes three LCD projectors from a computer that is loaded with Arkaos Midi. Two screens as were built on the edges of the dance floor, while a third rear projection screen with power control was suspended on the edge of the dance floor. This allowed the place to close a section of the club by reducing the screen and serves as a divider. In a rear projection screen was used, allowed customers on both sides of the divide to see pictures and graphics are projected.

In general, the final product was as impressive as expected. All the elements worked together to create a complete clubbing experience, with a high standard be set for the new expected industry night.
