Olympus Stylus 1030 SW Review

Olympus has introduced another tough Digital Camera with its Stylus 1030SW. They claim it can handle a fall of 6.6 meters a dunk in water 33 feet deep, temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit, and crushing weight of up to 220 pounds. The 10.1-megapixel 1030SW improves upon its predecessor, 770SW, with increased shock absorption capabilities, more resolution, a slightly larger LCD screen and a 3.6x optical zoom lens longer.

Sporting a sleek metal body in a choice of Silver, Midnight Black or Metal Pink, waterproof line-up for everyone. Waterproof to 3m, shockproof to 1.5 m, and freeze proof to -10 ° C, this camera is ready for the bumps and bruises of everyday life. In conjunction with a hard exterior, the μ mju [:] 850 SW features a 8.0 megapixel plenty to ensure the perfect capture of every detail. Digital Image Stabilisation is also on board to reduce blur. For framing flexibility, a 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 38-114mm on a 35mm camera) gets you in close, and the large 2.5 "/ 6.4cm LCD provides quick preview and review shots. In addition, an LED Macro Illuminator is available to improve close-up shots of subjects in macro photography.

Shooting outdoors in broad daylight can be tricky because of the extreme contrast between light and dark areas of shadow areas illuminated by the sun. While the human eye is capable of detecting the nuances between dark and light and all the details in between, image sensors traditionally have not been so sensitive. The Stylus 1030 SW addresses this challenge with Technology Shadow Adjustment which compensates for extreme contrast where the shadow areas are underexposed and lack visible detail. With this technology, users can view and capture images with the same contrast as the naked eye.

Finally, freeze-proof camera least impressive specifications: it is 14 degrees Fahrenheit. Also be a feat that most other cameras seem to handle very well, handling just 14 degrees Fahrenheit is really nothing to brag anywhere north of the 45th parallel.

Although the 1030 SW has not yet been introduced in retail stores (which will be released in early March), Olympus has already announced will lead a $ 399 price tag when it is displayed. While that is a nice girl like most point and shoot cameras with the same resolution, the ability of Olympus underwater alone justifies the expense if it is to be used as independent campuses can run over $ 150 easily. So, if you're a clumsy or a risk taker born, you may want to investigate further the Stylus 1030 SW to save another victim of the camera painful.
