Top Digital Camera repair problem – broken LCD

We live in a throwaway society, it is a simple fact. You buy that brand new camera digital luxury with all the bells and whistles for $ 400, and in 6 months to 1 year's worth maybe half, and then the unthinkable happens: you drop and break. The LCD screen breaks, or the lens is stuck, what do you do? You head back to the store with its poor camera and the man behind the counter (who knows nothing about cameras except what is written on the box, much less repair the camera) says that it is not worth to fix it and you should throw them away. You feel cheated and angry with the manufacturer of the camera and threw it to buy a new one made by someone else.

There are alternatives available! You do not have to shoot the camera, you can fix it yourself, send it to repair or sell parts to someone else online.

If you want to repair it or have it repaired, I have a tip for you about what I think it is the # 1 problem of digital camera repair: broken LCD screens.

It was hard for me to choose between broken LCD screens and glasses broken but I stayed with LCD # 1 because it is very easy to break your LCD are not even touching the camera to do it!

The LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is the view screen on the back of the camera that lets you view the menus, images reproduced etc. The LCD is very thin, very fragile, and many many completely unprotected cameras! Look at the back of the camera, the screen is recessed slightly or is the back of the camera flat and smooth? If the floor is protected against 'Window' or 'crystal' on the LCD screen to help prevent damage and breakage. If it is not flat, you have nothing to protect your LCD and must make a good quality of Lcd Screen Protector for the camera and not the thin, flimsy "saran wrap" plastic film screen protectors, which are worthless.

– Do not leave your camera in the car in summer or winter. Extreme heat can cause expansion of the liquid on the screen and cause "crack" and on the other side of things Extreme cold can cause it to freeze

– Do not place anything against the LCD screen on your Camera Bag, you hit the LCD screen and crack (yes, even if you have a window on it, it will break!)

– Do not place the camera in your back pocket and then sit down!

– Do not place camera in the front pocket and then return on it.

– … Just do not put your camera in the pocket of pants please. =)

Ok, so it does not work, what will you do now?

– Manufacturer site have an impact only reject the repair damage and even if the camera was not abandoned, etc. You can try, and I wish him luck, but probably not fix it.

– Find a faulty camera in e *** y (hey do not get paid to advertise for them …) and make a good camera for the two if you are handy.

– Look for a real camera repair business and not someone it sent to the manufacturer and tell you which is $ 200 and 4-6 weeks for repairs. (If I say, are NOT to repair your camera for you, which is sent to Manufacturer guaranteed)

Many LCD screens are very easy to install and you can do yourself and all you need is a small screwdriver. Other LCD are very difficult to install, and even professionals do not like making them! I can not tell the brand …. is the best and the brand … is the worst, actually not. Some series cameras have 1 or 2 models that are difficult to work, however, the rest of them are quite simple. You have to decide for itself whether to open the camera and attempt the repair yourself or not.

How is an LCD replaced?
With most Canon Digital cameras, LCD screens, for example (using as the example because they have the largest market share) the only thing to do is disconnect the ribbon cable for the LCD and the backlight (the light that shines through the LCD screen and lets see what is on the screen) and then install the new LCD. Some come with the backlight attached, others not. Some backlights must be soldered to the mainboard the camera, others not.

– Be careful not to touch the flash capacitor contacts! WILL zap yourself if you do, and hurt a little. Is likely to launch the camera across the room when it happens. (Yes, I've done, I have been repairing cameras for 5 years now so ….) We have 'flash capacitor Downloaders "And every time we use a camera.

Hope this helps you get your camera repaired and saves you time and money in the process!
